Reflections Through Fujii Kaze’s Song✨ The Meaning of “Going Home”

In my previous article, I wrote about the “mysterious experiences” I had after my father’s passing.

Through that experience, I came to understand that:

Even when the physical body is gone, the soul continues for eternity.

For more details, please read this article:

During this time, I happened to hear Fujii Kaze’s song “Kaero” (Let’s Go Home).

To be honest, I had never really listened to his music before. However, someone introduced me to this song by chance.

The moment I heard it, the lyrics and his voice deeply resonated with my heart.

When I listen to his songs, I can’t help but feel a mysterious warmth and a gentleness that seeps into my heart.

In this article, I want to share my thoughts about the lyrics and worldview he weaves, my own experiences, and the common threads between them.

The Message Behind “Kaero”

This song was included in his first album “HELP EVER HURT NEVER“, released in 2020.

In this song, Fujii Kaze sings:

Let’s give everything and go home, let’s return with nothing in our hands.

Having experienced the loss of my father, the word “Kaero” (go home) felt like it meant more than simply “heading home”—it seemed to represent something much greater:

The return of the soul.

Such a warm, embracing image filled my heart completely.

Furthermore, in this interview video, Fujii Kaze says:

Thinking about death isn’t a negative thing.

He expresses “dying” as “returning home,” and also says:

Thinking about returning home connects to how we live in the present.

This deeply overlapped with the feelings I experienced through my father’s death.

And Then “Michi Te Yuku (Overflowing)”

Fujii Kaze has many other wonderful songs that touch the heart.

Among them, I’m particularly drawn to the song “Michi Te Yuku (Overflowing)”.

When I first heard it, I felt a sense of nostalgia, along with a tightening in my chest—yet strangely warm feelings.

This song depicts accepting your imperfect self as you are, gently letting go of excess, and how your heart gradually and quietly fills up by giving love.

When I listen to this song, I experience the sensation of being wrapped in warm light, as my heart quietly and surely fills up.

Listening to “Michi Te Yuku,” I thought once again:

I want to become someone who can accept everything life brings—both joy and sorrow—and share love with others.

To Face Death Is to Truly Live the Present

When you hear the word “contemplating death,” you might have a frightening image of something you’d rather avoid.

But in reality, it was quite the opposite.

After losing my father and encountering Fujii Kaze’s music, I became more conscious of what it means to “live” than ever before.

The brilliant sun, warm meals, laughter with loved ones…

I was reminded of how precious these ordinary moments are, what miraculous, irreplaceable time they represent.

These small daily happinesses are miracles that truly exist within our irreplaceable “now”.

Fujii Kaze’s music gently and warmly affirms both “living” and “dying.”

Through my father’s death and my encounter with Fujii Kaze’s music, I’ve come to feel the meaning of life more deeply and vividly than ever before.

Until the Day We Return to the Light…

The common thread between Fujii Kaze’s songs and what I felt through my experience is this:

“Death is not an ending, but a return to where we truly belong. And knowing this makes living in the present much richer.”

The invisible yet certain conversation between souls that I had with my father—this is a priceless treasure for me.

When we lose someone dear, the grief is deep and immeasurable.

If there’s anyone reading this who is suffering from the loss of a loved one, please gently hold these words in your heart:

“The soul continues eternally. They are always by your side.”

Even though you can’t see them, their soul is surely beside you, watching over you with gentleness and warmth.

Until the day we let go of everything and return to pure light,

let’s cherish and live each day—this here and now—to the fullest. ✨
